ABOUT LEN & JAY BIAS FOUNDATION
The LAJBF is a non profit organization dedicated to encouraging and empowering families and youth to become change agents in promoting healing, peace, unity and safety within the borders of their local community.
This organization was birthed from the deaths of
Len and Jay, who were the sons of James and Lonise Bias.
Len Bias was a University of Maryland Basketball Player
who died suddenly of cocaine intoxication June 19, 1986, two days after being drafted by the Boston Celtics.
Jay Bias was murdered in a drive by shooting at a local mall December 4, 1990, 4 short years after the death of Len.
Dr. Bias believes her two sons were seeds that went down into the ground to bring forth life. “Len and Jay are doing more in death for this nation than they could have done in life.”
She has turned the deaths of her two sons into a mission to help others, “Turning Lemons Into Lemonade.”
